Is anyone else doing shakespeare at school?

Im doing shakespeare at school and I hate it. Its MacBethh and I cant bring myself to like a book which is just a playwrite. Are there any tricks to shakespeare so that its not as bad? Does anyone else think its pointless rubbish?

Go see it on stage...brings it alive and makes it more real and easier to follow.

I'm not a fan of Macbeth but some of Shakespeares other stuff is great

Just because it's a play doesn't mean it isn't good literature. Macbeth actually has a lot of action in it: murders, sieges, etc. If you can move past just reading the complex lines and actually engage with the plot, most Shakespeare is extremely interesting. As the above poster said, seeing a film or live version makes it all much more clear and engaging. No matter how boring it seems, Shakespeare and his stories have a lot of significance in our modern culture, and reading them is always a good thing.

Shakespeare is nice to know but in the end of the day you don't need to know it.
