I am getting lots of clicking noises as I dial and can't use any automated phone services because of it.

  1. Sounds like your 'phone has been switched to pulse dialling if you can't access auto services.

Look underneath the phone and check the switch is set to TONE.

  2. Special Branch are listening in on your line.

  3. what do you do for a living ???

are you married or single or recently split from someone ??

it sounds like your phone is bugged

  4. It's MI6. They know what you've been up to. Off to Guantanamo with you! Do you look good in orange?

  5. Yes, Square eyes is spot on here, you either have an old phone that is permanantly set to pulse dialling (loop dis for the older engineers!) or your phone is set to pulse, set your phone to tone and you will hear the dtmf tones as you dial out, then you can use the automated services. If you have an older phone that doesn't have the switches under the base, replace it.

  6. As a BT engineer I can tell you that it is probably corrosion on your line some where outside. You need to report it to BT. But before you do try another phone to make sure its not your own equipment that is faulty.

BT will charge if it turns out to be your own equipment. No charge will apply if it is a landline fault.

  7. Yes! Also, it takes so long to get a dial tone. It's so annoying! I wish I knew what was going on.
