Is anyone else in the Vancouver, BC area having problems with channel 5 and 6?

The sound is perfect but my image is fuzzy. I tried calling the local cable but they have no idea.

I would venture a guess that it is due to ingress of an interfering signal into the cable from some source that is being distributed to you.  I don't know what the situation is today, but I remember that there were many complaints about cable leakage in Vancouver.  Cable leakage goes both ways.  If the signal leaks out then an interfering signal can "leak in".  The interfering signal will then be amplified and distributed by the cable system.  I think that is what is happening in your case.  The cable company usually has some sweet but clueless young girl that just got out of high school answering the phone when you call.  She's clueless and will be no help.  You have to get past her to the transmission and distribution engineer in the engineering department.   If you can get his or her attention and tell him that you think it is an interference ingress problem then you have a chance to get the problem fixed to your benefit and that of your neighbors.
