Hello,

Is anyone else out there, and I am sure there are many that are struggling trying to find a job in this tough economy??? Did anyone ever consider home based businesses??? I have, but I know most of them are scams, how is a person going to make it these days being unemployed?? I am one of them and getting more and more depressed over it.

  1. It's very difficult, esp. in the midwest. Jobs are paying $7 to $8/hr. and they are all getting snapped up. I have been out of school since January and have not found work yet and I have a 3.8 GPA in college and a great work history. Keep trying and network, visit your community college and take a course to keep yourself busy & connected. I have not considered a home based business due to the problem of scams and not knowing who I would really be working for. Self-employment is a risky way to go if you don't have a good plan and capital behind you. Just keep going, that's all one can do.

  2. I am the same. With an ongoing PhD in archaeology, I am struggling to find a job. I am looking for part-time, nobody hires me, there are not many vacancies in West Mids, UK. I am still unemployed after 10 months applying for jobs of all sorts. Keep uplying for real jobs. Try to avoid home based, they are scam, at least most of them.

  3. I feel your pain because I am in the same boat.  I have been out of work for 9 months and its not getting better.  I have sent out 100's of resumes but have not got many interviews.  I don't know what I would do or where I would be if I didn't have my parents and family for support.  Take support from where ever you can get it from.  I know it is very depressing but don't give up.  Good Luck to you.

  4. Yessss. I left my job 8 yrs ago to care for my small children and an elderly parent. Now trying to get back in the work field is very hard.

I'm either overqualified, or have been away too long.

I've avoided the scams online so far and participate in several surveys and research panels. I get 3-25$ frequently, but nothing to live on.

I know it's depressing but keep trying. Hoping that we both find what we need.

  5. I work at home and I did al ot of research before I decided to work for this company. It won't make you rich, but you can work in the comfort of your own home, and spend time with your kids. Good Luck in your search

  6. Hello,

Looking for a job can be quite a hassle, especially when doors are constantly being closed in your face. I have an online opportunity for you that is SCAM FREE. It does cost $10 per month but I gurantee you it will be worth it if you are willing to put in the time and effort.

  7. almost 6 million Americans are currently unemployed and looking or wanting to work age 22 to 65. it is estimated that another 2 million teens and tweens (16 to 22) who normally work summer jobs are not working this year and are not even counted in the unemployment figures so............

    to answer your question of:

Is anyone else out there unemployed and having a hard time finding work??

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can not get depressed you must get up every day as if you have a job and prepare for it. work at finding any job, broaden your horizons and realize any job in this economy is a good job. look at the bright side things can't get a whole lot worse for you, i hope!

    good luck.

  8. Without knowing anythign about you, what you've done, your experience, training, likes, dislikes, talents and ability's it is kind of hard to point you in any particular direction.

From my experience though, most home based businesses that are legit are just plain hard to make very much money at....or it takes quite awhile to build your business to that level.   Example, things like Watkins, Melaleuca, Avon, Tupperware, Pampered Chef...etc....all legit...but it's only a select few that really manage to make any amount of an income.

Have yo considered starting your own buisness from home....that's what I did three years ago and it is  going very well....I can make as much or as little as I want...depends on the effort I put in each month.  I started this busines  on $0.  If you would like to know what I do just to give you a place to start in your thinking just send me an email.

    Good Luck

  9. I finished my degree in mathematics with an emphasis in education and yes have been having trouble finding a job.  I have been subbing during the school year and as long as you can pass a back ground check and if you have a bachlers degree you can sub at your local school too.

  10. Hello Jean,

I am in the same situation. I was out on medical leave when my company was bought out by another company. Ultimately, my position was eliminated. I have been exploring how to make money online for over a year now. The best place you can make money for free is Squidoo. You write a lens which is just another name for article. You can write about whatever you want. There is a module added to the article which has amazon.com products. If a visitor buys any of the products you get 50% of the proceeds.  www.squidoo.com

Do not bother with the get paid to read emails or surveys as I found them to be a waste of time. Also, when researching working from home be very careful. Prior to giving away your money - do a search at ripoffreport.com and google the company to see if there are complaints.

    Good Luck

    Theresa
