I wait on my family, forgo my own ambitions and dreams, and am disappointed when I wake up in the morning. Yes, I recognize depression, and I know it doesn't last, but is anyone else out there feeling this way right now because I feel pretty alone.

  1. I used to be heavily bogged down by depression, and let me tell you it SUCKED. I'd question my own existence all the time because I was so detached from the rest of the world. After a family incident involving my sister, she began seeing a counselor and I requested that I see her as well... She helped me get through the tough stuff that I couldn't weed out and find out what was bothering me. If you've been depressed for over 6 months I'd consider visiting a therapist (but remember, you can't get along with all people, nor will you love every therapist out there. Trial and error, don't give up if you take that route). If this started more recently you could just be stressed and need some down time. Take a nap, go watch some birds, read a book, get some time to yourself, maybe get some time with good friends and lots of fun, love and hugs...

And start expressing your anger, and sadness (in proactive ways of course! let people know they upset you by telling them something like "I don't appreciate your tone, and I don't deserve to be spoken to that way") Constant ignorance of your own needs will cause you to eventually become depressed (imagine each time you get angry as a drop of water into a cup. soon it gets filled and that's where you are.)

Stop putting other people before you all the time, you're worth so much more then that. Be selfish sometimes, you matter as much as your family does. As a previously clinically depressed individual who thought there was NO hope for me, I think I know what I'm talking about.

I wish you vast luck and hope your world gets sunny very soon!

  2. noo i dont

  3. I feel exactly the same way.

    Your not alone.

  4. I question why I am here everyday. Sometimes I get the feeling as if I am living someone else's life and watching it go by through an onlookers eye. The main question in my mind is what is the point? Why do I have to do this? What really is my purpose? Everyone's purpose? I think that when you do find your true purpose you will know what life is for, you will know why you are living. If there really isn't any point to anyone's life then why bother. But will still can hope that there is some actual purpose and the world is not just chaos.

  5. Yep, I felt that....then I realized I only had one life to live, and I was going to start doing things I wanted to do instead of sacrificing myself to everyone else.  I'm a lot happier now.

  6. Why waste your life away trying to figure out the unknown...what a waste of time if you ask me.  Just accept the fact that we are here and live your life to the fullest.

  7. I exist as a body, but "I" is an illusion.

  8. i've learned to comes to terms with the fact that whatever happens, you have no control over and you need to accept it and move on. the most important thing no matter what you do is to find ways to contribute to your overall happiness, because in the end...none of it matters.

  9. It is normal to have this feeling.

When the time is right (and you'll know when) go for your dreams and

leave everything else in the past (not without memory though)

Try to make life more spontaneous, it makes it more exciting - and adventure can bring a smile even to the most timid person's face

    best of wishes

  10. Sure, I think everybody questions their existence at some point in their lives, especially during the times when they aren't happy.  I think its especially sad for atheists because for them, there really isn't an explanation for why they are here on earth, since everything is just all by chance anyway, even the creation of the universe.  But people who follow a faith, or believe in God, feel that there is a divine purpose for why we exist. They may still question the specific purpose of their life but find comfort in the idea that there is a greater power in the universe that created humans and has a very good reason for why they do exist.

  11. when you ask too much you will end up miserable

  12. Nahh, I don't.

  13. i agree with u sometimes it just feels like a very long dream but its just my life

  14. i think we all get like that every once in a while. don't feel alone. i think maybe you have very high standards and thats why you are easily disappointed. just try to be ok with what is. remember: it's not about having what you want, it's wanting what you got.

  15. Please edit this and add how old you are, bc that matters!!!

  16. Life can be a test.

Maybe your test is to break down those barriers so you can be your own captain in your life.

Whatever it is you desire is attainable if you walk the walk.

    Good luck.

  17. Yeah, I'm disappointed when I wake up too. I kind of feel like my life isn't important to anyone. Like all of the friends I used to have don't even seem to miss me and sometimes I just wonder if anyone would really care if I died tomorrow. You aren't alone, trust me.
