Is anyone else sad that Nathan Bassett is retiring?

He has been such a great player, often very underrated but apparently his battle with diabetes is taking it's toll.

I know how he feels!

I'll miss him anyway.

  2. He is a great player i think he will be one of the greatest defenders

    i think alot of people was sad but he said when he had that neck injury he said he'll prob retire at end of year, also i expected Biglands to retire but i thought he would ov retired earlier

  4. He will be missed. A very good player, and like you said....often under-rated. The Crows will surely miss ability to go forward when needed. He is an exceptional footballer and I hope for Bassett's sake,, The Crows win this week and do well in the finals.

  5. Yeah its pretty sad - such an amazing player to watch, i didnt know he had diabetes - that really does increase my respect toward him, poor thing - i hope that he does well in the future and that we see him in a coaching, commentating etc. position in the future

  6. I never knew he had diabetes. It is a great effort for him to have had such a great career. I didn't even know that he was retiring though!
