He was just another proffessional agitator like Jessie and Al. He encouraged law breaking as well as encouraging ***** soldiers to dessert from the mlitary. Every town in America has a "Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Junior Boullivard". And it is usually the site of the most "black on black" violence.

  1. Hype?  He was a great man and you think the marking of the 40th anniversary of this death is hype?  It's very important that young people nowadays know what he did for the civil rights movement, so the "hype" is justified....

  2. Yeah, he just wanted to bring a little hope to a people who had been systematically enslaved and opressed for centuries.  He preached non-violence and tolerance and sought justice for all races and people.

No reason to celebrate someone like that, right?

  3. no

  4. 1. It was the 40th anniversary of his death, so I guess that somehow makes it more important. The media likes round number anniversaries.

    2. All the presidential candidates were attending the festivities, so naturally the media bloodhounds were there in full force. Just in case one of them said something stupid I guess.

  5. definitely      cjhs

  6. It's good to remember why this man did what he did. I also learned a few new things about him.

How, for example, the head of the FBI, J Edgar Hoover, told law enforcement agencies to not tell MLK about any threats made against him.

I also learned how when King got shot the people who were around King saw police coming out of nowhere from around the motel building where they were staying, some even headed towards where the shots were fired from but even so the shooter got away.

  7. Without question.
