Statistically they are the toughest division in baseball with 3 teams already over the 60 win mark. Cubs are in 1st (65-44), Brewers (60-49) and Cardinals (61-50) are in a tie for 2nd.

  1. Yeah, they are no longer indentifiably the six worst teams in major league baseball. This is a big change. The West is the new Central in the NL

My money's on the Brew Crew.

  2. No not really

i knew all of the teams had a shot at the playoffs

  3. Well it is a big improvement. They are not the NL West by any means. Someone did make a good point though. The bottom three teams must be nice to face so many times in one year.

  4. yes but you have to consider  how bad the bottom 3 teams are.   must be nice getting to play  cincy, pitt, and houston (3 of the worst teams in mlb)  18 times a year.

i think st. loius is the biggest surprise no one expected them to do much in 2008

  5. Considering how terrible the west has played against both the NL east and NL central it really pads the wins on some teams.

However, the Cardinals pitching staff has really stepped it up and has done far better than anyone has projected.

As for being the toughest division in baseball, the AL east is just as tough and their race is closer. Both Boston and New York are less than 5 games behind.

  6. I'm not surprised whose in it I knew it would be The Cubs, the Brewers and The Cardinals, I'm Though Surprised by the Lead The Cubs have Now I thought Milwaukee and St. Louis can do better Guess Not 5 Games for the Cubs ahead of both the Cards and Brew Crew, is Ridiculous.
