  1. Roe v. Wade cannot be immediately overturned, but a McCain presidency makes it far more likely to eventually be overturned.

The Supreme Court made abortion legal throughout the US in 1973.  Before then, it was only legal in NY, WA, HI, and AK.

When Supreme Court justices are appointed, they stay for life or until they retire.  Bush managed to get some very, very anti-abortion judges on.  Several more Justices are old enough that they will be leaving the court in the next 4-8 years.  If the next president follows Bush's lead and appoints 1-3 Supreme Court Justices that are pro-life, Roe v.Wade will be overturned.  McCain is pro-life, so this is very likely if he becomes president.

That will not make abortion immediately illegal, but many states will make abortion illegal within a year of Roe v. Wade.

So yes, a McCain presidency puts Roe v. Wade at risk.

  2. YES YES YES

Which is another reason to think about our candidates very seriously!

  3. I'm pretty sure a law would never pass.  Think of all the illegal abortion rings that would surface!

  4. The president does not have enough power to overturn RvWade.

IT wont happen.  Even if it did, there is always Canada.

  5. YOU are very correct to be worried..Why,,because this is the way conservative right religious zealots get their foot in the door on issues that are MOST important to them.. Its not good enough abortion is legal,,and its not important that its a CHOICE that a woman LEGALLY has about a pregnancy,,its ALL about someone else's religious morality which they would force upon everyone else..You don't HAVE to have an abortion !! You CAN just choose not to..And also,,if the other two supreme court justices,,which are nearing retirement,,choose to do so,,and a conservative anti abortion president and vice president appointed conservative judges to the supreme court,,with the two Bush appointed,,if legislation was to be brought to the supreme court for repealing Roe vs Wade,,MOST CERTAINLY it would be repealed by the majority conservative judges !! McCain has already said Roe vs Wade  was a mistake !! And the vp choice Palin,,wants NO s*x education in schools !! They already try to restrict contraceptives and other forms of birth control,,so what do you think will come next.. AND no abortion for rape OR INCEST.. And YET,,everyday they violate their own PARTY VALUES!! The Writing is on the wall  !!  We need to be very careful here !!     SOLOMON

  6. It very much scares me. Talk about women being treated like objects. This is why people need to stand up for what they believe in. I can't tell anyone how to vote but if this law were over turned, this would be a "right" being taken from women. It would also be a very dangerous decision as well.

No man would allow a law telling them what they can and can't do with their body. Why should women?

  7. Nobody is trying to "take away a woman's choice", Palin just doesn't think killing your baby should be a choice.  There are so many other "choices" that can be considered.  You have the choice to use birth control.  Yes it can fail, but if you don't know that before you have s*x you really need to educate yourself.  You have the choice to parent or adopt the child out.  You also have the choice to not have s*x.  Now before the femenazi's start screaming about rape or incest victims, yes a pregnancy can result from rape or incest, but how often does it actually happen?

  8. I think you are right! Highly possible if they are elected and I think it is awful to take away a woman's choice like that. I may not agree but think everyone has a right to their own choice. Many of the supreme court justice's are ready to retire and if McCain is elected he will appoint new one's with his views and it is very likely that that choice may be taken away. I am as worried about it as you are.

  9. Wow, rape!? She's crazy, she wants to take Polar bears off the endangered species list.

Well, you see she's 44 and has a four month old.
