Question:

Is anyone else tired of all the abortion questions in politics?

The issue has been decided by the supreme court. It is not a political issue. It is pathetic to see people in the greatest country on earth reduce their greatest right, the right to vote, into a one issue waste of time. Why does abortion trump all other issues?

  1. The point you all don't understand is that our Federal Government should NOT BE in this debate at all.

  2. It's a very personal issue, not a political football.

  3. Maybe the questions on abortion should be

asked in the Pregnancy Section of Q/A. Or

we could just none of us answer any more

    abortion questions....ha ha....wouldn't that be

    a surprise for the questioneer?

  4. Me.

  5. because jeff people are stupid. they don't want to hear about the issues that matter because then they would have to do research on those issues, and even worse do real research on the people in govt who have the power to make decisions on those issues. It's just easier to go with something that is just "right" or "wrong" I mean if they actually had to think about things like global relations, health care, inflation, pollution and the things needed to be done to balance those things they would have to dig so much deeper than their shallow little minds will allow them to go.

  6. I am not tired of it.  I will continue to bring it up every chance I get.  (Thank you for another opportunity by the way!).  The reason it is SO strong this time is Obama's vote to withhold medical treatment from a baby who is born ALIVE in a botched abortion attempt.  He was THE ONLY senator to vote this way.

    Thanks again!

  7. Under the same argument then, gun rights have been established by the supreme court so we shouldn't see any left questions on that also?  I am not tired of the Abortion issue, I just want it explained how it could be ok.

  8. Yeah, watching insults tossed back and forth by radicals is much more enjoyable than actually discussing an issue.

  9. Because unlike most other issues, abortion infringes on the right of human life at its most basic and important level, the level of survival.

Besides, just because the Supreme Court voted on it and made it legal doesn't make it right. Just like once in this country it was perfectly legal to have slaves although it wasn't right.

Abortion is also against womankind because half of the aborted are females and that's just in this country alone. In China, if the parents know through testing the the unborn child is going to be female chances are excellent that the unborn female will be aborted. Thereby the parents can try again for a male child. Nice movement for woman's right.

  10. You can be tired of it, but the Supreme Court remains a viable means to overturn it.  So I'm afraid it is an issue with the number of aged Supreme Court justices and McCain likely to nominate people who would overturn it.

  11. I'm not. It is one of the things that is truly a political issue, unlike McCain's houses or Obama's name or whatever the flavor of the day is. Simply because an issue is ruled on by the supreme court does not mean that it ceases to be an issue.

People vote on one issue all the time, and usually it is much more pathetic an issue than abortion. How many people vote for who they think will give them more spending money? Or who they think will reduce gas prices by a little? Compared to the fundamental issues involved in the abortion question, these are often petty issues.

I don't know if abortion trumps all other issues, but there are good reasons why it is one of the most important. From a pro-life perspective, the issue of abortion is one of legalized murder. Obviously if you think the country is allowing a million or so murders every year, this is going to be a very important political issue. From a pro-chioce perspective, the stakes are admittedly a little lower, but the right to bodily privacy is at stake. It would obviously be a political issue if the government were to start forcing people to give blood or made organ donation mandatory, so it is easy to see why abortion would be an issue for the pro-choice.

  12. like this one?

  13. I think the government sidetracks people with things they are passionate about to take their attention away from the numerous crimes they are committing behind people's backs.  The constitution clearly states that religion shall be separate from government.  A persons right for an abortion should be left up to the church they choose to attend not the government.  Religious people eat up this governmental red herring because many of them feel the need to impose their beliefs on others, they use the excuse that the country was founded by christians.  They we not christians at all, not at that time.  The Catholics church did NOT accept their religion and did NOT consider them christians, which is the reason the protestants settled here and the reason they found it so important to let people practice whatever religion they chose without fear of the government getting involved. The dollar bill says "In god we Trust" not "in Jesus we trust".  God can be anybody's god, not just the christians god.  I don't think abortion has any place in politics. And what has the government done since they've had us all preoccupied with s*x, guns, and rock n roll? Abolished habeas corpus, Abolished the fourth through Ninth Amendments with the Patriot act, torture policies, and our unwritten right to privacy, and the tenth by passing all sorts of federal laws on things not stated in the constitution.  I am really tired of talking about abortion while the government continues to take advantage of the people.  The Federal income tax is in direct violation of the constitution!!! I wish people who rant and rave about abortion, and who vote based on a candidates stance on the issue, would get a clue and realize that abortion is not the thing that is destroying America.

-Also a side not, the left brings up the issue of guns because first of all, it is actually a political issue, secondly the amendment is vague as to whether we have a right to an organized militia only, or to personally won guns, this is why we argue about it.  It says absolutely no where in the Bill of Rights or Amendments "a woman shall have a right to an abortion" therefore it shouldn't be a political issue, but a religious one.  Also, if you look at many prominent figures stance on abortion compared to their character and integrity, it really is not an indicator.  People against abortion? George W Bush, Ted Haggard, d**k Cheney, I could go on.  Your belief in a woman's right to choose or not has absolutely no correlation with character or integrity.

  14. Let me interpret this question for those who aren't familiar with what abortion is:

"Is anyone else tired of all the murder questions in politics?"

"... Why does murder trump all other issues?"

It is a serious crime. That might be one reason why it is considered important.

But hey...I have a question for you:  You say that "It is not a political issue" because it "has been decided by the supreme court." Aren't supreme court justices appointed by a POLITICIAN called the president?

What makes something "a political issue" anyway?

  15. Yes, I am tired of the questions. But I'll put up with it until women stop using abortion as a form of birth control...and a lot do. After all, you are destroying a living being....inconvenience or not.

  16. Because it's one thing everybody can ***** about. But I really don't think it's a good idea to discuss it politically. It's more of a religious question than anything.

  17. I AGREE

  18. You're right, but how a politician votes on this issue tells me a lot about his/her character and integrity.

  19. BRAVO!! I sure am!

If you're against abortion...don't have one!

  20. haha, you're tired of it because you can't win trying to defend it. Just because you declare it a non issue doesn't make it so, and Obama's support for infanticide is completely over the top even to most liberals.

  21. You have my respect, I am so glad someone finally addressed this.

Abortion, however strongly people may feel, however much faith plays a role, is NOT a priority issue, not when there is the economy, healthcare, and wars to consider.

  22. I am not tired of it personally, and i will answer every abortion question I see. Just because it was decided by the Supreme Court doesn't make it law. Why not put it to a vote in Congress? If it passes as legal, I will accept it. I won't like it, but I will accept it. This issue didn't belong in the courts. Abortion does trump all other issues for some people, and it's because they feel so strongly that when you abort a baby, you are killing a baby. Killing the most innocent of our population couldn't be more wrong, so that's why we give the issue such great weight when voting. I guess we just have to agree to disagree.
