Is anyone else tired of hearing the story about Caylee the missing toddler?

I don't know about you, but I am sick of hearing about this completely un-newsworthy story being repeated ad-nauseum on the television. It is like that McCann BS all over again. We have a war going on in Georgia, the Olympics in Beijing, and yet the only thing people want to talk about is some random kid who went missing. Why?

Until the news starts reporting on ALL missing children everywhere, I am going to regard this as hype and hope that this story will die sooner rather than later. Who is with me?

  1. Not much happens in the late summer so this is a worthwhile story for the media. She is (or was) a beautiful WHITE girl so it helps readership, circulation. No, I do not get tired of that --- if I had a chance to do something to anyone who would hurt any child I would take that opportunity. I can't prevent Israel from starting WW3 but I can hurt a child abuser. I hope iI get the chance.

  2. The purpose of keeping this story going is to keep pressure on the people who know what really happened to that child. That poor excuse of a mother that child has is going to eventually tell the truth. And finally, if it was your child missing how would that make you feel.

  3. Divine Shadow, although I can see your point to a certain degree the only reason I can see about keeping this story going is for other young woman not to repeat a tragedy such as I'm sure this will end.  The little girls grandparents seem a lot off base, like their daughter and actually seem to be willing to stand up for her.  I realize that parents are to stand behind their kids regardless of what their behaviour is; however, if even the thought of one of them killing their own I question how someone could at a time like that. We in Canada had a case about 10 years ago where a couple of nice looking young woman were killed by a husband/wife team and they got much press also.  This was due to the fact that it was such a brutal murder and they were so attractive.  This story will disappear if/when the child is found either dead or alive.  And then every year after it shall be brought back up on it's anniversary.  Whatever the press thinks will sell they will continue to push at us.

  4. I see your point also, but I clearly don't think this story would be so popular if she was "missing." I believe this is a murder. A murder is much more popular than something or someone that goes missing. Think about it.

  5. perhaps you should try telling the people who love her that you selfish b. I hope if you ever have children nothing happens to them because i bet your attitude would soon change if it did.

  6. Wow, I hope your children never go missing.  I would rather hear about missing children in our country than a lot of the other things we have going on in the media.
