  1. It comes on at 5:00pm here. I set the dvr because I do not watch Dr. Phil while dd is awake.

I am assuming the show is about a first mom who placed her child for adoption without the father's consent. And her attorney helped to perpetuate a lie that he did not want to parent?

    Sickening.....

From the previews I know the parents are adults......but is anyone with me on this.....We need to start talking to our teen boys and let them know that there are some situations where they could loose their children???  I just think that some men are unaware of what could happen. How can someone make a decision to parent if they do not have any clue that they are going to be a parent!!!!

I just feel so bad for the little ones....it breaks my heart.

As much as I want to be a parent again.....I certainly do not want to "steal" someones child who so clearly wants to parent. I do not want to judge before seeing the show but I am very curious as to what the adoptive parents are doing about this.

The courts need a well needed overhaul or this will not be the last case such as this we will hear about. And woman who lie in order to place their children illegally should be criminally liabel.   I know that is harsh but what must these poor kids be going through.....it's just awful!!!

  2. We started but were too disgusted to continue.

  3. Wow...I am hoping to run home during my break to record this. I feel for the father. He admittedly has made mistakes, but who does she think she is deciding that her child would be better off without him.

This makes me so d**n mad!

  4. Yes I'm going to watch. I have watched his case for a while. My son is shawn mcdonald and he had his child stole through adoption. The difference is that he didn't know the birth mother ( they have a 4 year old daughter to) was pregant with his child she moved out of his house after 3 years and into another man's house and hid his daughter from him.

I called dr phil before but they never got back. It seems like no one wants to talk about his story because LDS (church of latter day saints) is the adoption agency that did this wonderful job. Hey so far the Texas depart of protected services who relate LDS gave the violation and the social worker for LDS got in trouble to.  I hope this young man get's his child back all we can do is pray

  5. I watched the trailer online.  I'm glad to see some "big name" attention paid to this!

ETA: Transcript?  Am I website illiterate or what?  Will try to find the transcript now.

    ETA2: Thanks, Gaia

  6. starts in 15 minutes, the message boards are crazy

  7. Darn it.  I want to see that show but I'm in the UK and can't access it

  8. I will have to check it out at 3 pm here

  9. i read the transcript. when this baby grows up, she will have a lot of questions for her first mom and her first mom's parents. there should be a law that protects fathers' rights, especially if they are willing to step up and take care of their offspring. I mean you hear of so many stories where the father walks away, how about the stories where the father wants to be part of their childs' life, but a stinking law prevents them.

  10. No but hope its good...I just can't stand his voice.....

  11. Dang, it's not on where I am.  And I'm going to be at work when it is on.  I'll see if I can find a place online where I can watch it.  Just out of curiosity, do you know of a place where you can watch old Dr. Phil shows online?

ETA:  Dang it, there's like 100 shows about adoption.  Is this a new show?  Do you know the show number, by chance?

ETA2:  I found the transcript online.  It was pretty good. Thanks for pointing this out.

    ETA3:  http://www.drphil.com/shows/show/1071

Click on each of the links, and it will open up a new window with pictures and most of the word-for-word transcript of the show.  Each link gives a few pages of transcript.  When you're done with one, close it and scroll down to the next one.
