  1. I can relate. I am 29 weeks and work 50+ hours a week in an office. I sit all day so my feet swell up, and then when i do have to work a closing shift and am on my feet for the last 6 hours of the day my back hurts and my hips feel all out of place. I also work in customer service and with the annoyance of a phone that does not stop ringing, I find myself trying to control my snapping at people. I find what helps is to take my break when the phones are at their busiest and and keep snacks and drinks on hand. Also i learned to bring in a stress ball for the really bad days.

  2. I did !! I had 3 weeks left to have her and 3 weeks of work left ( I worked in a school) My student all special needs and teenagers drove me bats in the end hehe

  3. I went to school full time ( 18 credits) and had to do a lab where i was on my feet for a few hours. I finally was done about 3 weeks before my daughter was born. I was working but i worked at Sears in the ware house where i had to climb up and down latters. I asked many times for them to move to cashier and they kept telling me i had to wait. I was 4 months pregnant at the time and I had fallen off the latter before so i quit on the spot.

  4. Yep, I work full time in an office. My back gets really sore. I'm 7 months and have 2 months left to go. (I'm working up until a few days before my due date)

  5. Yes, I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I work in retail.  That means I'm on my feet all day long.  By the end of an 8 hour shift I am so completely exhausted that I come home, eat, and go to bed.  My feet, legs, back, and stomach all hurt at the end of the day.  I'm usually in so much pain that I don't do anything when I'm at home.  We are not allowed to eat or drink while on the sales floor, and I only get one 30 min break a day.  My manager is not making any accommodations for me at all.  On my days off I stay home and try to rest as much as possible.

Customers get on my nerves too, they can be really mean.  A woman in her 40s laughed in my face and called me fat the other day.  I cried for two hours.

So suffice it to say, I hate my job.  But I know that I won't be able to find another one while I'm pregnant, and I really need to work as much and as long as I possibly can.  I'll probably skip out two weeks or so before my due date... I keep reminding myself that it isn't forever and even though things are rough right now it's only for a short time and I can just get through it.

Anyway, I would try taking more breaks and eating lots of snacks if your supervisor will allow it!  Anything that will give you a mood boost would also be helpful.  Good luck!!

  6. I'm 32 weeks and I work in a factory full time. Which means I am on my feet for about 9 hours a day. I found the first trimester hard and obviously the third one as well. I just get so tired. My back and the sides of my belly would hurt. I eventually had to get a support band. It really helped, especially with the strain on the sides of my belly.

  7. absolutely! 36 weeks today, and at least three weeks of work left (well, baby permitting!)... I work full time, with overtime, at a very busy salon and some days I just want to die! I'm always swollen and sore by the end of the day, and it can take me hours to really feel awake in the mornings. I'm so ready to stop, but they need me to finish out at least another week or two to find a replacement, and you can always use extra money pre-baby! :-) hang in there, you're not alone, and it'll be over soon!

  8. Yes!  I am a public relations specialist and also deal with customer complaints a lot, so patience is hard to come by if you're having a day when you're not feeling good!  Plus, I haven't been able to take a day off my entire pregnancy because I am saving my leave, so I am SOOOO ready for a vacation!

It sucks, but remember that the money you're making helps baby!

  9. Yes - I am 36w 1d pregnant with twins . . . I plan to work through this Friday.  I am definitely uncomfortable but overall I think working has kept me healthier during the pregnancy.  Work also kept me getting up in the morning, moving around a certain amount etc . . . I have a c-section scheduled for Tuesday - so I keep reminding myself how proud I am that I made it until almost right up to the birth.

As to dealing with work - I keep loads of snacks on hand - that seems to hold off some of the annoyance and I make sure to take my breaks and a few extra breaks to get up and walk around a bit.

Best wishes for a happy & healthy pregnancy!

  10. I am still working.  I am 36 weeks pregnant with twins.  I work in a Dr's office.  If it is a day where I am standing alot, my back is killing me by the end of they day.  But if it is a slow day where I am seated my feet swell up like little balloons.  So either way I have something to complain about.  I want to wait as long as I can before taking off.  I want to spend as much time as I can off with the babies, not just being off.  Customers and Patients do get on my nerves, but I am so brainwashed by working for the public it is difficult to tell.  I can be cussing you out inside my head and you would think I was the nicest most caring individual on the planet.  I'm really good at my job. LoL.  I know it is tough, but we are gonna make it.  Plus I don't know about you, but I am just to lazy to stay home.  I am uncomfortable most of the time.  So it is rare I WANT to do any kind of work.  So if I were at home all the time I would be taking about 50 naps a day and getting in some great tv and Yahoo Answer time:)
