We no longer have owners who love the club they are at. If all the investors pull out where will that leave us all. We have Hicks and Gillette ruining liverpool with debt united are also in massive debt all of Chelsea's money is a loan from abramovich. I don't know much about the new city owners but they seem to have no footy knowledge. I think this is very worrying

  1. the game of football shouldn't be known as a money game but just a sport. it is worrying how people buy glory just for fun and not for the spirit of football or because they want to win something for the club.

e.g. man city's new owner said he looked at other clubs. so it shows he doesnt support any certain team. they only go there because it is available!

    =]

  2. i am not worried.

as long as they keep on investing money and "keep on appointing a qualified coach"

appointment of a good manager is important and as long they have good managers they need not worry about the football side.

as with the money, i think any company works better if the owners think that they wanna make money out of the club.

it is like any other company, until u want some return u keep on working on it . as soon as the company becomes a hobby, u don't do as much work on it.

  3. not if you're an arsenal fan,if all the investors pulled out of utd, chelsea, liverpool spurs etc etc, were will it leave the arsenal every season..it will be a one horse race for the league

  4. JUST LIKE MOST ENGLISH COMPANIES OUR FOOTBALL CLUBS ARE BEING SOLD FOR A MESS OF POTTAGE.

IT IS SYMPTOMATIC OF THIS COUNTRY IN GENERAL.  IT HAS FALLEN UNDER THE SPELL OF GLOBALISATION.

    WORRIED!  I'M TERRIFIED?

  5. If I was a Liverpool fan I would be worried too. At least Roman loves football and is a fan as well as a backer. For Hicks, Gillette and the Glaziers football is only an investment and if they thought they could get a better return on their money somewhere else they would sell out in an instant.

  6. Football isn't just a sport anymore it's mainly a business.  We could do with every team in the whole of the English leagues getting a massive cash injection then the game would be back to how it should be, where shrewd management wins you trophies instead of money winning you trophies.

It'll never happen but it's the only way football can be football again.

  7. I`m a city fan and i`m terrified. Football has been heading this way for years. Most of the current foriegn owners don`t understand the game. I still can`t understand how the Glazers bought utd. with loans secured against the club ! and I feel sorry for liverpool fans with the way their americans have carried on, it`s not the liverpool way to behave like they do. The only guy who seems o.k. is villa`s owner.

  8. its better to have football knowledge rather than just the money

if you have the money but lack the knowledge of football then you cant go nowhere.so why does man.city having money worry you as you said they have no knowledge so why should it bother you?

chelsea have both and thats what should be more concerning to us

  9. Sometimes I wonder if they invest in the clubs for a laugh but it's certainly worrying not knowing if they are in it for the long haul or if they could pull the plug any day and now the transfer fees go up again, wages through the roof and more foreigners into the league. it's definitely not what I want to see happening but the fans can't challenge anything nowadays. The only thing I can say for the Glazers is that they have kept their heads down and out of the media though we still don't know the full extent of the debt

  10. I am with you my friend! There seems no rational explanation why these "Consortium's" are pouring money into these clubs .... why? Football when i watched and played was an enjoyable event. Today it is at the very best .... mediocre! The very though of certain individuals running around ( i use this loosely) and being paid upwards of 130k / week is frankly ... obscene! Where is the incentive gone. they have a bad game ... they still dram their salary. Where do you find other such comparables? the average guy & gal in the country are having now to decide whether to "Eat" or "Heat" on a fraction of what these So called Footballers are earning.

  11. Worried? Not a bit. Concerned? Hardly. But I can't wait till it all comes crashing down around the money-men and the idiots who follow them like sheep. Maybe then the game will become 'beautiful' again.
