  1. Your best bet is to go directly to the Cruise Line websites, they usually have direct links to employment positions. Avoid anyone who charges a processing fee, these are employment agencies and some are less than reputable.

However it does depend on where you are coming from. Some countrys do require you go through a vetting process for on board positions before you get an exit visa to work on ships, and you will also be required to get a C1/D visa if you are not a US citizen

  2. I worked on Cruise ships for many years-go through the company you hope to work for website as there is NO charge.

Once you have the letter from them you can apply for the C1D1 visa-had NO problems.

You need to be aware you work everyday on board, wages are OK but not very good. You get to see places you may never be able to go otherwise. You dont need many clothes as you wear a uniform most of the time. In most cases you will share a cabin with bunk beds. Depending on your position on board you may/may not be able to fraternise with passengers on board outside of work hours.

Take easy wash clothes and comfy shoea. Toiletries tend to be expensive so if you prefer a particular brand make sure you take a good supply.Check out how they will pay you as you may need to pay a fee to send money home.

Crew bars provide a relaxed area to socialise for crew  especially those who cannot go above decks after work hours.
