I saw a commercial for advertising the Bills coming to Toronto. I don't mind the NFL but I really don't think they should come to Canada when we already have a league of our own. I really don't want them to come to Toronto. Does anybody else feel this way? Do you think the Bills will be in Toronto for a long time or will it fade away like the Blue Jays??

  1. We do not need the Bills in Canada.  There is only one reason they are visiting Toronto, and that is to increase their revenue.  They aren't making money in Buffalo.  They will not be allowed to move permanently to Canada because there are other major centres in the US without an NFL team.

Kassie / NC Girl, why the venom?  Your profile indicates you like to learn about other peoples and places, but you display unwarranted hatred in your post.  For shame.

  2. They're not relocating to Toronto, the Buffalo Bills are just playing a few games here this season so they can make millions of the Toronto market and keep the team surviving for now. Whether they will move the team in the long run is questionable, but it won't happen under the current owners.

I know we have the CFL but I wouldn't mind an NFL team in Toronto. There's already thousands of NFL fans in Canada and their league is just a lot better to watch. Mainly cause the players are the best in the world. It might kill the Argos but I doubt it would hurt the CFL as much as a lot of people are worrying.

  3. The Bills are playing in Toronto for a couple games this year because their lease on Ralph Wilson Stadium (in Buffalo) is up in a couple years and they are negotiating for the new stadium contract.  They will get a better deal on the stadium if they can show they are not dependent on Buffalo and able to move the team.  After they sign a new long term stadium contract they will stop playing here.

Also, I don't think the Bills playing in Toronto will be successful.  One of the greatest parts of the NFL is the tailgating which Toronto cannot accommodate.  Also, the tickets are far too expensive and Rogers Center is not a football stadium which means watching games there sucks (go to an Argos game and you'll see what I'm talking about).

Personally, I usually go to 2 Bills games a year.  Even though I live closer to Toronto than Buffalo, I will still go to the games in Buffalo because the tailgating and atmosphere will be much better.

To answer your question, yes, the Bills in Toronto will fade away within a couple years.

  4. With the Bills coming to Toronto for 2 games a year for the next 5 years the CFL is safe.

When Toronto fans get a chance to up close watch how dull an NFL game is without the Tailgate party and the gambling. the novelty will wear off. Without the hoopla the NFL game is second rate to CFL football.

  5. I honestly think the Bills should and probably would go to LA if they were to make a permanent move. LA is the second largest TV market in the US and Toronto is a large TV market but it isn't LA.

  6. We can watch a game in Toronto if they show up. But keep them out of Canada.Their football sucks and tickets would rise so much if they stayed. In order to pay players fans here would have to dish out so much that the game would no longer be accessible to families. Look at hockey. We lost both the Jets and Nordiques and both places were packed. Look at your ticket cost now. You can't go to a game with your family anymore.

  7. Its going to happen its just a matter of when that old man wil die. If the owner of the Bills passes away the team will be put up for auction. The Rogers guy and his group have upwards of a billion dollars to win the team. It will be a dark day for Canadians when the Bills roll into town. I hate it I dont want it to happen but fear it will and when it does not fade away.
