Is Woodquay a good area to live in? (In terms of being a safe area, and also close to things to do, groceries, etc.)

Can anyone suggest some good areas to live in (again, that are safe and close to the city centre)?

Thanks!!

  1. Woodquay is one of the best areas in Galway to stay in. It's in the very centre, just off Eyre Square, and it's in easy walking distance to all night life. There are plenty of grocery shops open till late and it's also near the city's biggest shopping mall). It's also very safe, but remember though Galway is not a big city, be sensible - it is the centre of town

Another area which might be a bit more lively is anywhere near the Dominic Street/Bridge Street/Spanish Arch area (nearer to the docks and Claddagh areas). That's where all the best night clubs, pubs, restaurants are. Again, it's within easy walking distance of most other places.

Enjoy yourself in Galway. It's Ireland's truest University city (one in three of the total population is a student of one kind or another) and it's also the most Gaelic city.

  2. Yes it is but the houses are small.

Accomodation is in short supply this time of the month as the students will be returning.

If its close you want, try edward square apartments. its off shop street my friend lived there its excellent for the night life and shops and its security controlled entrance. If money is no option, but accomodation in galway is relativly cheap compared to the other cities
