I'm looking for a definition but this seems not be a widely recognized term. Any help would be a divine joy.

  1. Only thing I can find on the web is this, another question!

What is resource competition? Describe majority and minority relations from this perspective. Provide examples. In general terms, what do the Noel hypothesis and resource competition have in common? How do they differ?

Perhaps you could search under 'resource competition' and kind of relate it to the Noel hypothesis.

    I wish you luck.

  2. The Noel Hypothesis states:

If two or more groups come together in a contact situation characterized by ethnocentrism, competition, and a differential in power, then some form of racial or ethnic stratification will result.

If the contact situation has all three characteristics, some dominant-minority group structure will be created.

I hope that was at least a bit helpful!
