Is anyone familiar with the name Osiris?

I am naming my first born son Osiris. I am familiar with the Myht/story of him and became really facinated with it. My husband actually wa the one behind it all but i fel in love with it too. Does anyone know any thing about this name or is it just us that find this name facinating?

My son's name is Osiris, which means "he who has a powerful vision". To say that the god was simply the "god of the underworld" is an understatement. Osiris was god of the land and vegetation and was given the respect and honor when he died to be judge of the living and the dead. He was a good god with a good name! There's more Osiris' out there if you look it up. An artist named Osiris Rain, a business exec and 440 American's have the name Osiris! Everyone's going to have their opinions, you pick the name you love and don't try to please anyone!
