  1. Just search youtube for ".06  per gallon Impossible No You can too"

  2. The big oil companies must be held accountable for their actions, like GREED!

Our leaders are bought out by them so I don't see any big changes coming.

End the oil depletion allowance (tax break). Billionaires don't need a tax break.

This mess started in the 70's.  Gas stations closed and a "shortage" was cooked up.  When all of the closed gas stations were turned into convenience stores, suddenly there was plenty of gas.

President Nixon promised a big investigation, but then that Watergate mess came up.  Coincidence?

  3. Of course I wont get best answer but this is the truth, even though nobody likes hearing it.....Gas is not expensive in USA at all. In fact, its very cheap. Its keeping up with inflation just like our food and other things, but for some reason people have started this trend where its hip to talk about gas prices it seems. Gas is only $1 more now, than it was in 2006. Thats pretty cheap. We are only paying $500 more this year on gas because your average american uses 10 gallons a week. If you worked at some low paying job like Tj Maxx or Walmart or something, I would expect that you would have gotten at least a .25 cent raise. A simple .25 cent raise a year on your job (or change jobs if you are not getting this) would cover the change in gas prices. So anybody who thinks they have less money because of gas, isnt taking this into consideration and should reevaluate their spending habits because its not because of gas prices why most americans are broke these days but they love to point the finger at that.

    So lets do the math:

Gas is costing you $250 more this year than it did last year overall.

If you get a .25 cent raise on your job, you should be making $480 more this year than you did last year overall.

Its not that gas prices are bad, its just that people have made it a "cool" thing to talk about it. It makes everyday ordinary people feel smart like they are talking about stock prices

  4. I was fed up with gas back in 2004. I said my next car would be powered by hydrogen, but obviously it cannot be. I wish we would get off the oil kick.

    And start a Garden!

  6. Get a smaller car.

Try to take public transit or set up a carpool.

If all else fails, move closer to your work or get a new job.

  7. very much get bush out of presidency and it will drop

  8. I take public transportation and carpool.  I feel bad for working class people who have to drive to work and are already just scraping by, but the majority of people whining about gas prices are middle and upper class and aren't doing anything to cut back on their driving or drive a more fuel efficient car.

Gas is way cheaper in the US than in most places in the world.  If the only way to get people to think about how many resources they're using is to talk to them through their wallets, I don't really mind rising gas prices.

  9. Instead of cutting corners, I researched gas prices over the last 50 or so years.

Calculating for inflation, it was obvious that gas prices have in fact been much higher than they currently are.

Based on that, I saw no reason to either complain about prices, or worry about them.

    And I moved along.
