Is anyone getting prepared for the hurricane season?

  1. Not really. We're never prepared, and I personally usually run from them. I'm about an hour inland from Charleston though. When Hugo hit, it didn't even do that much damage here. We pretty much go on a need-to-need basis.


  2. I'm not. I live in Baton Rouge, and usually here we don't have to worry about the hurricanes, we more have to worry about spawned tornadoes.

    The worst destruction hurricanes cause here is knocking out power and knocking over limbs.

    Once a storm gets ready to hit the shore, I'll buy water and extra batteries. We usually already have canned goods, and we have a flash light, batteries, radio and first aid kit... but when Katrina hit, we didn't even lose power here. We watched Anderson Cooper hanging out by the USS Kidd on River Road on TV.
