There a great site: http://www.CruiseCritic.com - that has a message board for people traveling on the same ship/date.

Go to boards (you'll have to register/free); On "Roll Calls - Members Only)" select your cruiseline (Carnival); under that thread click on your ship and then look for the date you're sailing.

I've always met people there. On my last cruise there were over 100 of us (some had cruised together before).
