  1. Some heavy papers come off easy. It's the lightweight stuff that's a pain. I made mrs. slack do it. Used DIF, a scoring tool and lot of patience...

  2. I do it all the time, as do my apprentices. They complain about the blisters on there hands, (maybe I should get out the steam stripper)

  3. no, but I remember helping my mum when I was a lad! yes, we had fun!!

  4. Not today, but I've certainly done it. Takes lots of patience. I find that DIF works well. Here's a link to an article that can help too.

  5. No, but we did pull off some old backsplash that was coated luon (sp?) and it pulled off pieces of the dry wall down to the paper.  So, we're going to be doing the good old prime, skim coat, sand, skim coat, sand, prime then paint process!

If you're having a hard time removing the wall paper, I've seen the professionals on HGTV use 1/2 water, 1/2 fabric softener with one of those scoring tools and the paper peeled right off.

Keep your chin up and remember the goal you're going for!!

  6. No, but I'm pulling off paint. The bright light who painted my back porch lo these eons ago didn't prime the wood panelling before painting, so the paint didn't adhere. Now that I had some work done there, I have to pull off all the non-adherent paint before I can patch.

I'm imagining kicking someone in the head repeatedly.

  7.      I never had a problem with it once I learned many years ago how to do it right. I'm a retired contractor and can't afford to have people s******g around on the job to long so, have to be fast.

Now, get it hot, next to boiling, bucket of hot water, a bottle of DIF add to bucket, then a sponge mop and start moping the walls, evenly until you get back to where you started, then do them again, make sure your getting them real good, now, when you get them a third time, start again, tthe paper should start "falling" off by now, if not, then your doing something wrong. Get the DIF at any Wal-Mart or Home Depot.
