Is anyone here an autistic adult who doesn't communicate with people?

I know a 17 year old has no communication other than screaming and hitting the table.

If someone says they have no communication and are fluently writing on here, they are misleading you.

The guy I know cannot even write his name without help but he is sweet and happy. He is also NOT retarded.

My brother is autistic and has limited communication and could not type of here but he can look up Barney videos on You Tube and things like that.

I do know someone who is autistic who communicates but has elective/selective muteness and cannot communicate in certain situations but that is different.

I am sorry I don't meet your requirement but since my brother is autistic my family is very active in the autism community where we live and so I know many people with many forms of autism.

I have a brother-in-law who is 26 years old and is Autistic and Profoundly mentally retarded. He has never spoken a  word in his life but he does make sounds.  He will never be able to talk to us like people who do not have disabilities do. So with this knowledge I have gone on line and gotten copies of pictures of sign language and have started to teach him simple words, such as go, eat, cup, ect. We have to teach him everyday. But if it makes it easier for him to tell us what he wants or if something hurts, it is well worth the time out of our day to help him in this world.  I do not know if this is what you were looking for but maybe this will be helpful for you.
