Question:

Is anyone here familiar with the New Orleans Airport?

I have to catch a connecting flight in the New Orleans on Thursday morning and I've never been to that airport before. This wouldn't normally bother me, except I only have about 30 minutes between the flights. I know that the airlines will handle transferring my luggage, so I won't need to worry about that. I also called the airlines and found out that I need to get from Terminal A to Terminal C. Supposing my first flight arrives on time,is 30 minutes enough time? I'm most worried about getting lost in the airport. Are the terminals marked clearly?

Anything you could tell me about the airport would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. You will be fine. New Orleans airport isn't "small", but it is very far from the size of an airport such as Atlanta, Dallas, etc. Your total walking distance from terminal A to C should be 5-7 minutes tops.

  2. new orleans airport is relatively small compared to most other international airports. 30 minutes should be ample time but you may be a litle rushed. there is no waiting for shuttles or monorails to get you back and forth once inside the airport

  3. New Orleans has a medium size airport with 4 concourses (A, B, C, D). The airport is arranged very clearly and you don't have to worry about getting lost.

The airport's webste has a map (click on Airport Facilities):  http://www.flymsy.com/

Thirty minutes between flights should be enough as long as your first flight arrives on schedule.  However, there is NO time to spare.

Concourse A is at one end of the airport and C is in the middle.  The walk is about 250 yards. You do have to go through security again as each concourse has its own screening area.

Call the airline for your first flight and request a seat as far forward as possible.  That will let you get off quickly (without having to wait for the aisle to clear).  Walk directly to concoure C (there are signs) and - if necessary - politely ask the other passengers if you can cut to the front of the security line.

Do check the schedule in advance to see when the next flight you could take to your destination departs if you miss the scheduled flight.

    Good luck!
