  4. Speyer is smallish but stunning. I used to live close by. The cathedral is a must see and the whole old part of town absolutely lovely: great cafés, pubs, restaurants, few little shops. It's about 40 minutes away from Heidelberg. Check out the offical Speyer website, there is an English version. :)
