Is anyone old enough to remember when New Zealand won the World Cup? I wasn't born then but some of you were?

I understand New Zealand had a cracking team back in the 80s and won the first World Cup.

Did anyone watch it (was it in black and white)? Was it a good game?

Do you think they will win it again back in New Zealand next time?

They were also playing a purely amateur sport...where they couldn't train professionally and had to have fulltime jobs...(well they weren't of course, they have always been pro....hence their whole rugby history being a complete lie - but everyone else had too).

Oh my goodness. Some people are truly leading you 'up the garden path'. As tempting as it would be to continue that,

1. Yes I watched it and watched David Kirk (captain of the team, Rhodes Scholar etc etc etc) lift the trophy. There was no way my parents would have allowed us to watch anything else :)

2. It was in Colour (it was 1987! Which wasn't that long ago - i guess it was for you though).

3. They were New Zealand but certainly went  by the name of the All Blacks as well.

4. You know what - i can't actually remember much about the game. Strange I know!

5. WIll they win it? The competition is a lot stronger now. It is a professional environment  ina professional game played by professional athletes from many countries. Who knows.

Yes it was in black and white.

Colour hadn't been invented yet.

In fact colour was invented for the 1991 World Cup final.

Of course it was in colour!

It was 1987, only 21 years ago.

I didn't watch the game because electricity wasn't yet working throughout London,but I have seen some grainy stills. They did look very good but were called the Southern Fern islands at that time not New Zealand.
