  1. I got mirena about 3 months after giving birth.  It's a little uncomfortable at first because it takes a while for your body to adjust to it (about 6 months).

At first I had irregular periods, maybe for like 2 months or so.  I also couldn't do any type of stomach exercise for the first 6 months because I would feel it hurt me so I would just stop.

Another thing that I feel is about a week before my period, I get strong cramps, maybe a day total.

But other than that, it's the best thing I could've ever done.  You don't have to worry about taking a pill everyday.  Once you take it off, you're ready to have another one.

  2. I had Mirena put in about six weeks ago and have not had any side effects.  I had minor cramping and spotting after insertion (spotting lasted for about 2-3 weeks) but nothing since then.  I am very happy with it.

  3. I cant speak for minera but I have paragard

I like the paragard because it has no hormones (less chance of side effects)

other than cramping and bleeding when it was put in I haven't had any side effects
