  1. Love my job.  I manage an office with about 150 employees in 2 locations.  There is always something new going on.  I have been with the company 8 years - started as receptionist after running a one person office that had toooo many hours. Now because I have learned about all the interactions of the different departments I fix procedures,  have input into information security policies, run a charitable snack venue and so many other things.  It's busy and fulfilling.  Best of luck with your search- my best advice is keep an open mind because you never know what a job can turn into.

  2. hi Lucky,

The grass always seems greener on the other side, when were working for one co. we r always thinking maybe we could get a better job than this. But am not saying that we should just stick to the one job that we have even though were not happy. Keep trying lady luck always favors those who never stop trying.

  3. I have not seen many happy persons in their career.I am in IT.These guys are too busy, preoccupied and become quite insensitive.Changing profession can be an option only if you are not doing too well / dont like it because it is a wrong one for you.If you take a sort of philosophical view-there is no perfect job-I have changed 5 jobs in my 25 yrs of worklife !!!!

  4. I am leaving my job tomorrow selling auto parts and going to work in a lumber yard...... I don't know what to think.

  5. Into law enforcement and still looking for ways to advance.

  6. I just changed jobs about 3 months ago, I'm a secretary now, I was working in a convenience store, assistant manager, making 9.00 an Hr. Now I'm only making 6.00 an Hr, but I'm happy, not stressed out all the time, at the store sometimes I wouldn't get home until 2 am! And sometimes they had me working 11-7 shift, which caused problems with marriage, so for me, I would say money is'nt everything, as long as your happy with what you are doing!!

  7. I LOVE my job.  I am an ecologist at a university and I get to do things that I love (going 'out to the field' to collect data through out the summer months).  I work at home during the winter, entering data, analyzing data and writing reports.  Ok, I don't love the 'writing reports' part, but the summer field work makes up for everything else.  I also have a decent boss who gives me a lot of responsibility and treats me as an equal.  It is only myself and my boss working on the project, except during the summer, when I take summer students to the field with me, to help with the data collection.  I like that part too because I get to teach up-and-coming biologists.  I also get to take courses if I feel I need to.  Even without the courses, I have learned so much about this subject area and how to do different types of statistical analysis.  I feel really proud of what we have accomplished.

    cheers!
