  1. Sorry, not from Australia but I found a link that may help.

  2. Since you have already changed schools, I think you should home-school her.

I know a girl who was home school for 7 years, she said she loved it. Although, when she came back to school she wasn't used to asking to go to the toilet, or wasn't used to hanging with kids her age.

It's worth it homeschooling her. I believe you can have webcam tutoring, they email you work, or post work so you as the parent still have time to work. You can customise the program.

This is in South Australia though.

  3. There is a homeschool section here at Yahoo! Answers and I have seen atleast one user from Australia.  It is under the Education and Reference tag.

I have a ten, nearly 11, year old daughter and I feel for you.  I would not want to put her in that situation either (we homeschool).  Do what is best for your daughter!

If you visit http://www.HSLDA.org there are international links, and I know they have one for Australia.  You may be able to find homeschool organizations listed there for your country and state.  Also try http://groups.yahoo.com and type in "Australia homeschool" or "Melbourne homeschool" etc, of course using your region Melbourne was just the first to come to mind.

I hope this helps and wish you the best!

  4. You might ask in the Home Schooling section. I know there have been some Australians there. The only thing I can tell you is that each state/territory in Australia has different rules about homeschooling. Look up homeschooling and your territory to find out more. You might even try searching in Yahoo Groups for Australia homeschool or something similar. Being able to really discuss things would help.

  5. I'm a Sydney-sider considering homeschooling my two young ones.

Google "Home Education Association Australia." It's the best website, and it has a list of support groups Australia-wide.

As for your daughter, I feel for her. I was a bully victim at school and I am still living with the psychological effects of it. I was 12 years old at the time. Looking back I think homeschooling  would have been the best for my confidence and also some counselling from a child psychologist. My heart goes out to you and your daughter.
