I recently found a very interesting network marketing business.  I know what your thinking network marketing equals evil business, but bear with me. In this business you do have to work and it does take an up front investment, but it is one of the most unique network marketing businesses I have seen.  Personally I was tired of network marketers telling me to hit up my friends and family for sales, so this business intrigued me. Basically you can choose a role. You can be a marketer/advertiser, a trainer, or a reqruiter. So if you don't like talking to people you can be an advertiser, if you don't like selling but you like talking to people you can be a trainer. These people are really into helping people out, and helping people succeed. There are different monetary levels you can enter the business at, but the lower level doesn't cost much (somewhere between $100 and $200). I think it is very difficult to find a legit home based job.  If you look into one do make sure that you don't pay for anything unless they give you all details up front.  It needs to be totally transparent.  And don't pay much attention to testimonials as they are usually rubbish or not representative of all opinions!

Try starting an ebay business.  There are some great books about starting an ebay business and you will surely get ideas from them.
