Is anyone related to someone famous?

Im related to william the conquerer, duke of normandy, Isaac newton, and the queen. This is all from tracing back my family tree.....

As far back as I know, our family had members in the House of Lords and royal court of King James I (the King James Version of the Bible guy). Our ancestors began moving to the Jamestown colony of America in 1610, perhaps with the governor Thomas Gates. They were Anglicans. My first direct ancestor to come to America was William, who came to America shortly before the Revolution, fought in the war for Virginia, and I think he fought at Yorktown, the final battle of the war, which ironically was waged on my birthday. Later my relatives fought in the War of 1812. In the Civil War I had relatives on both sides, one lost his leg for the North and later served as a high ranking ambassador to Holland. My other ancestors lived in the South and hated Lincoln, they called him a "black Republican" who deserved worse then the fires of h**l. However one ancestor, James Gentry, owned a store that Abraham Lincoln worked for in his youth, and during one business trip Lincoln and Gentry were attacked by a group of blacks.

My family was also Freemason, and when the Union invaded their town the captain happened to also be a Freemason and he promised to protect my family and their possesions against any rowdy Union soldiers.

I've also had family members who fought in WW1, and several in WW2. My uncle served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and he was shot in the head in the war but the helmet stopped the bullet, he still has the helmet at home.

I tried joining the Army, Navy and Marines to serve in Iraq but my eyes were too bad.

So I'm not really related to royalty, except for those early ancestors in the court of King James but as far as I know I am not related to any Kings or Queens.

So yeah.... American Revolution. War of 1812. Civil War. WW1. WW2. Vietnam. Sadly I missed out on Iraq so I cannot continue the family tradition, but oh well. Apparently our tradition does not end war so there is no real reason in having such a tradition.

I've had relatives who fought in the American Revolution, War of 1812, on both sides of the Civil War, one who fought for the North lost his leg and later served as a high ranking US ambassador to Holland. My great-great-great-great grandpa, James Gentry, owned a store that employed Abraham Lincoln in his youth, and sometime later while on a business trip with Lincoln they were attacked by a group of blacks and my family were able to fight with Lincoln successfully.

Before I signed up with Ancestry.com, my only claims to "relative" fame were Spanky McFarland (the fat kid in the "Little Rascals"), Red Skelton, and Jim Bacchus (Mr. Magoo and Thurston Howell, III), who are all distant cousins on my mother's side of the family.  I've since discovered that I'm related to Lachlan Macquarrie (the Father of Australia).

According to Ancestry.com, however, on my dad's side, I'm a direct descendant of Geoffrey Chaucer (21st great granddaughter) as well as a direct descendant of James II of Scotland (and by extension, Robert the Bruce and William the Conqueror), not to mention Elizabeth II (through the Queen Mum).  Ancestry.com also gives the following very, very distant relatives:
