Chris Simon is leaving the NHL? Looks like he signed a new contract with a team in Russia(yeah, I know it was a couple days ago) http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/ny-spsimon225697836may22,0,5261345.story

Is anyone sad? Do you think there are any NHL teams out there that would have taken a chance and signed him to a multiyear contract?

  1. i've been crying the last 2 days!!

  2. Oh, He is leaving. I really didn't even notice

  3. Not really (Grahame had value though Chris why him?)

  4. Not really sad. Maybe they'll teach him some discipline.

  5. Oh well.  Really, Europe has the right to compete for NHL-calibre players.  We keep buying up all of theirs.  LOL.

Maybe one day, there will be a World Cup between the Stanley Cup champions and the European champions.

  6. I am very very sad. I will miss hearing him complain and ***** and moan about everything he was accused of rightly. He won't be missed at all. No one likes this dumb@$$

  7. I've been fighting back tears all weekend since finding out...

    False.

  8. not sad at all

    i hate that sonofabitch

  9. Not really. If I'm going to have any negative emotions about this, it's that this Russian league may give the NHL a run for its money and become the dominant league. Not that there's anything wrong with that, seeing how the NHL has a monopoly of sorts and this marketing competition may make the league better (like getting rid of the instigator and trapezoid).

  10. dont care

  11. No team would sign that Goon. He's scum.

on the other hand, John Grahame also signed in Russia.

  12. Chris Simon around all that Russian vodka. Not a good mix.  Hopefully he will make himself useful and beat the snot out of  Alexei Yashin while he's there.

Smart move on his part, as there was no way an NHL team was going to sign him.

  13. NO I am not sad. This last season I kind of forgot he was there until he made an a** of himself. NO. I think teams are sick of idiots and don't need them now

  14. Russia? Dude, he'll have access to premium vodka and all the puck bunnies. Why would I be sad?  The only thing better would be Sweden imo.

  15. His mother is probably disappointed, besides that I don't think anyone is too upset.

I highly doubt any team would sign him to a multiyear deal.
