  1. for me Tennis will never be the same again...

  2. No, I'm not sad in the least. She made this decision for personal reasons.

  3. i'm sad. i like her because she's the only 5'5" lady who can kick the williams sisters' into the ghetto.

  4. The Belgians are quitters. Justine Henin and Kim Clisters quit while they are still young and at the top of their game. I won't miss quitters. The Williams sisters are formidable players but they are not getting any younger so don't hold your breath.

  5. i am still in shock

  6. As a fan, I feel a little bit sad, cause I can't watch her play anymore. I will certainly miss that glorious backhand. But then, she looks really relieved during her press conference. And perhaps, this is a good time to retire, when you're up in the rankings.

She's only 25. Maybe, when she starts to miss tennis, she might thnk of coming back. I hope.

  7. i was also shocked... but its her decision.. lets respect it!

  8. I'll miss her backhand

  9. I was a bit shocked,..... but if she retired due to some personal reasons then I don't have any problems but, she was a wonderful player ......

  10. I am more shocked than sad, but I guess she thought it best to quit while she's ahead. She's one of a kind in women's tennis, nobody hits that one-handed backhand like her. She packs quite a punch for a very petite tennis player and she deserves to win more titles.

  11. I'm not sad but I think it seemed that she thought it was the best move for her at this point in time. If her heart is somewhere else and is too stressed out, why not retire. She is rich anyways, enjoy life Henin!

She may want to start a family, go back to school, who knows! Good for her though, had a great career and she could always come back! Only about 25years old

  12. I was shocked when I saw a note about it on ESPN, I didn't believe it but I saw her press conference. She's just done with the mental and physical stress, and she was ready to hang it up, there's nothing wrong with that, I can't blame her, tennis takes it's toll after a while. I never was much of a fan of hers, but I always gave her credit because she is an awesome player and I'll miss her battles with my fav player Serena Williams, those two played some really good matches. But I think she'll be like Lindsay Davenport, she'll miss it and she'll be back, Justine is retiring very young and on top, I think she'll be back.
