Is anyone up on the codes on volvo penta engines??

The engine in question is fitted in a 19ft sealine,it is 4 cylinder and twin solex carbs,the engine nos are as follows,250A/sp 2200110452 868261. what is the horsepower,and the cc??? I believe it is the original engine fitted in 1991/92.Cheers.

The particular engine you are inquiring about were built between 1989 to 1992. It is 146 hp  2.49 litres  the bore = 96mm  the  stroke  = 86 which makes it an over square engine. Max rpm is 5500.

250A is engine designation number. SP means single prop.

2200110452 is the ser number. 868261 is the spec number , which is the most important number when ordering parts.

In addition, should you require parts for your stern leg, and you find the ID plate missing, the stern leg spec number for your boat will be 854019.

I think its a 146 HP  2.5 litre.  Sound right?
