  1. I used Skype Unlimited service last year.

But, Skype Unlimited service was regional (at that time), depending on which region you sign-up for.

I had USA/Canada Unlimited.  In which case, I could call as many people I wanted, as often as I wanted for the one low-yearly fee of $36/yr.

The people you call on landlines do not pay for receiving the calls.

However, if those people you call happen to be on cell phone, then they "may" incur cell phone charges... but not long distance charges.

One really great feature of the Skype Unlimited packages is that you can "Conference" call up to 9 people at once (within your Unlimited region) and still not pay any extra charges.... that is a good deal, and very cool.

Skype has just released a new service called:

    "Skype Unlimited World" for $9.95/month.

It does include 34 countries, for that price.

I have not used that service, but, I assume it is just an expanded version of the "Unlimited USA/Canada" for $2.95/month. (USA/Canada unlimited calling only)

This is essentially the same service I used last year.  But last year it was pre-paid for a full year in advance.... now, they have apparently re-released it under a new name and is now $2.95/month.  So, it is just another version of the same thing.

  2. there is also a new service out from skype....10 dollars a month...it just started in April...2008

you can call anyone and they dont have to pay 'cause you are the one who makes the call..
