  1. Apple keep it so secret when new products are being launched that even their own staff don't know until a few days before. However, this time round there have been so many strong rumors that it's well accepted there will be a revised MacBook and MacBook Pro. It's also likely the MacBook Air will get a speed increase to 2GHz (currently 1.6GHz standard and 1.8GHz option), plus a price reduction.

The MacBook is likely to get an aluminum case which is better for recycling. Current plastic MacBook case also tends to get hot with prolonged use and the white ones in particular discolor and develop small cracks!

Since the MacBook Pro was last revised with 200GB and 250GB hard drives, new models have been released so now there's a 320GB 9.5mm x 2.5" drive that Apple will most likely use in the top model.

4GB of RAM is the current maximum and - while there is less evidence to support this - I suspect they'll increase this maximum to 8GB.

Spy pics of new cases for the MacBook Pro have appeared on the web and look very credible. The case shape is cureved similar to the cool MacBook Air. Also appears to be designed so that RAM and HD upgrades could be easily accessible as a user upgrade. No pictures of MacBook casing have appeared, but all speculation is that MacBook will follow the MacBook Pro styling.

A good place to follow these developments is the MacRumors website with all the industry people follow as the most reliable. But just remember, it's speculation, no one except Apple really knows!

    Rob.
