Is area 51 real? I hear lots of rumors about it.?

Some people say area 51 is real but some people say its just a rumor.... I think its real cause if you get too close they tell you to get back. and they have signs saying "warning military testing" and stuff like that. i also heard they make really high tech stuff there and have found a couple of ufo's. if area 51 is real what do they do there?

Its very real, just very, very protected by the government. Yes there are tons of rumors of what really goes on there. My guess is top secret research.

Area 51, also known as Groom Lake, is a secret military facility about 90 miles north of Las Vegas. The number refers to a 6-by-10-mile block of land, at the center of which is a large air base the government will not discuss. The site was selected in the mid-1950s for testing of the U-2 spyplane, due to its remoteness, proximity to existing facilities and presence of a dry lake bed for landings.

Several high-tech super-secret planes were developed and tested here, including the U-2, SR-71 Blackbird and the F-117 Stealth Fighter . More recent projects include the rumored high speed high altitude "Aurora", various unmanned planes (UAVs) and a new stealth plane to replace the F-117.

Groom Lake is America's traditional testing ground for "black budget" aircraft before they are publicly acknowledged. Area 51 is a real government base. As for UFO's being there, area 51 has been made too public for any top secret stuff to take place there anymore! !

i think they hide like weapons of mass destruction and creatures we have heard about but never belived like aliens or UFO ships.and i also saw on a documentray that if you cross the line to area 51 they have the right to shoot you down or arrest you.and on the sign were bullet holes. how creepy right.

Yes, it's real. Lots of black project work there. Yes, it's been shut down...that's why the guv'ment 'fessed up and claimed it. Google Earth it...it's pretty impressive.

area 51 is a real military base as far as aliens go it depends on what one is willing to accept as alien many people consider aliens fully developed sentinent beings if not itelligent the truth however is that any off world organism is alien.in this respect scientists have claimed that bacteria and meteorites found on other planets is alien.anything not of this world is technically alien.there is more info at http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_aliens_exis... check it out for yourself

It's real.  I understand that they shoot anyone who gets too near.

When I lived in Vegas, there were a few people who were interviewed on TV, who claimed that there are UFOs there, and bodies, too. These people used to work there, high security clearance.  I watched these interviews, so I know they did say these things.  I do not know whether they were telling the truth.  My opinion is that they were being honest.  These interviews were about 18 years ago.

Area 51 is a real military aircraft tract. As for UFO and other supernatural occurrences, there is no answer to that.

i think its really cuz ever time a air plane goes over it they lose a single plus y to they keep it soooo secret. the one other thing is if we r looking for area 51 but what if its at area 52?????that's what I'm thinking area 51 is real but u wont to look for area 52!

Area 51 is real. Whether or not they have UFO's etc. there is a different story. Only the military knows for sure.
