I've heard that green tea is really good for you, but what about commercialized green teas like arizona? I love it but it could be one of those drinks you think is healthy for you, but actually isn't.

  1. Well the Green Tea part of it is, however it has been processed and sweeteners have been added which is not good for you.

  2. It is healthier than a lot of drinks out there, but still has sugar. drink it in moderation.

  3. Just real, brewed green tea is really good for you, with the anti-oxidants, etc.

Unfortunately, though Arizona green tea is tasty, it's not healthy a bit. Chock full of sugar. Most prepared iced teas are just like pop.

Keep in mind this following info. is for one serving, which does not mean one container! A serving is one cup, or 8 oz, which is 2/5 of a container.

In one cup, there are 17 grams of sugar, which is just over four teaspoons. That means in the whole can, there are about 10 teaspoons of sugar. Ew. (but it tastes good!)

Oh, boy, I just looked up my favorite - which is Lipton iced green tea, and it's worse. There are 21 grams of sugar in a cup, which is five teaspoons - yikes!

I also drink lipton white tea with raspberry, and that has 16 grams in a cup.

I have green teabags in the cupboard - time to pull them out and brew some of my own!

  4. Most bottled tea has sugar, corn syrup or artificial sweetener which are not good for you.

  5. All these people who would rather have so called "energy" drinks rather than stuff like Arizona Green Tea are out of their gourds!

AGT has less sweetener added than the energy drinks like Red Bull and much less caffeine in it as well.

It isn't bad for most people. And I like it as the carb content of the double serving bottle is not that high either.

  6. Green tea is supposed to be high in antioxidants, which they claim is good for your health.

However, tea, in general is not healthy.  It contains high levels of tanic acid which may cause premature wrinkling around the eyes, and may cause harm to your teeth.

Also, if you must drink tea, always drink decaf tea.  Excessive caffeine consumption is also very harmful to your brain.  Green tea is high in caffeine.

I don't care for any Arizona teas, as I think they are all too sweet.

See the link below for some of the risks associated with caffeine consumption.
