When I was 13, I was given ativan for about a month be doctors for something. After another doctor told me not to listen to some doctors because they can make you addicted. Is ativan/lorezapam a bad drug?

  1. Ativan is a benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety.

Percocet is a narcotic pain releiver.

Any drug can be bad for you if misused or abused.

Your drug questions are best answered by a pharmacist or physician, not here.

  2. They are two different things. Ativan is for anxiety and percocet is for pain. Ativan is a nasty, nasty drug. I was given it one time at a hospital due to not being able to breathe and having issues related to an antibiotic overdose while in the hospital and as soon as it was put in my iv I talked crazy. I swore the wall in front of me was falling. I kept telling everyone that it was and I was going to die. Then I would fade in and out of consciouness and acted like I was having seizures. My whole body would jump. It was awful.

  3. Ativan is a narcotic, percocet is a narcotic, but they are not the same. Percocet is for pain, Ativan is for anxiety and used as a sedative. Both have the potential for abuse when they are abused or taken in a way other than prescribed. Neither is a "bad" drug, but both are frequently abused.

  4. David G is exactly correct.
