  1. You need to remove antivirus 2009 as it is fake antivirus software thats preventing you from installing AVG, I would recommend installing Avast instead of AVG once you have removed antivirus 2009.

Malwarebytes is one of the best programs for removing fake software like antivirus 2009, download, update and run a scan - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

The other two programs to try are:

    SuperAntispyware: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...

    SmitFraudfix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.p...

  2. Are you installing AVG from the official site? Try that if not. If it's from torrents or something, it's likely that there is a virus attached to it. Either that, or there is a file-infecting virus infecting .exe's on your comp.

Also, try using Spybot Search & Destroy from Safer Networking Ltd.

It's free, not very CPU-intensive, has advanced options if you enable them, and will get rid of most fake antivirus things.

Oh yes if it comes up "Smitfraud-c" and there's only one file found (C:\windows\svchost.exe) from that, then you have Jeefo, which is a file-infector.

I dunno about the others tho'. Just try it anyway.

  3. If you do not want to worry about viruses and spyware just get Linux. It is safe and very fast!! You can get it here  http://www.ubuntu.com/  Any questions ask me at Baseballplyer40@yahoo.com

  4. Definatly A Scam, Next Year Anti-Virus's Come Out Ussually Around December 20th. AND LINUX IS NOT COMPLETELY VIRUS FREE THERE ARE ABOUT 700 VIRUSES FOR IT

  5. AVG is an anti-virus program and is not spyware. Depending on what version you are using it might have a firewall built in which will auto-disable the windows firewall. As for your auto-updates just go in to re-enable them or try downloading the latest ones from microsoft.com as sometimes their auto-update thing just messes up.

  6. avg has a firewall built in for it to work it disables it on your computer i would suggest reading what it does when you are in the process of downloading
