  1. i hitnk yes but i'm not sure

    how runny is runny?

    liquid?

think of all p**p it's not like rocks is nat=turlly softer

  2. It all depends. I have 3 ferrets, and i thought the very same thing when we got them home. 13 weeks is a little young to not soak the ferret food. Mine are 6 months, 7 months, and 8 months and we still add water to their food. When they are young it is difficult for them to eat dry food sometimes. If i were you I would continue to add water to it, but gradually add less and less water over time until their on dry food. On regards to the poo, ferret poo is soposed to be soft, but how runny are we talking? If it's like the consistency of water, then I would deffenatly take them to the vet. But keep in mind that ferret poo is naturally somewhat soft and runny. If you have any more questions let me know, I'de be happy to answer any questions you have about anything. Just let me know :]

  3. A healthy ferret p**p should pretty much resemble a warm tootsie roll. If you took a tootsie roll, rolled it back and forth in your hands and made little coils out of it you would have just made your own perfect ferret p**p.

Lots of things can make the p**p soft and runny, the change in diet, excess moisture, stress, etc. If a ferret is constantly having soft runny p**p it can lead to a prolapsed r****m so if the p**p is runny for too long take a look at the ferrets a**s just to make sure they are not having any discomfort (the r****m will stick out).

At 13 weeks the ferret will have his/her adult teeth and the digestive tract is mature enough that they can handle a dry kibble, no need to keep moistening it.

I've attached a couple links to the 'p**p Chart', an article Dr. Bruce Williams a ferret pathologist wrote a few years ago, it's got both a simple explanation and the second one is illustrated, just in case you don't see enough ferret p**p in your days. :-)

  4. By 13 weeks you really don't need to soften the food. They're capable of eating hard food by themselves.

Good for you for taking them off the cat food. Most cat foods lack the nutrition ferrets sorely need. And while I'm not sure what kind of food you're feeding them right now, I'd recommend Zupreem or 8-in-1 if your local store carries it.

Ferret poops are meant to be soft, just not liquidy. If it's not an oozing puddle, not black or tarry, and not an odd color like neon green, it's likely fine. (The first would more indicate digestion problems, the second bleeding, the third possible disease)

Yeah, just give them the hard food, and see how they do.
