Usually when I wake up in the morning, I have a bad breath... even though I ALWAYS brush before sleeping.... it doesn't really smell that bad... it just has a wierd smell... maybe 'I' only feel it because it's inside my mouth...?

  1. yes it is normal... you must sleep with your mouth open.

  2. when you sleep you mouth gets dry that causes bad breath

  3. yes. The mouth lays dormant, no saliva to hep break down other enzymes and bacteria. The tongue is actually the root to most odors in the mouth. Dentists have always reccomended brushing this muscle as well as your teeth.

  4. Yes, it's normal. The bad breath is caused by a lack of saliva. Saliva has enzymes in it that break down some of the nasty food in your mouth, but no saliva means the nasty stuff stays there EVEN if your brush. Your tooth brush can't get rid of microscopic stuff.

You really can't prevent morning breath except to sleep with your mouth closed and breathe through your nose, but sometimes you have a cold or something. Just breathe naturally.

I went through a phase where EVERY day, I felt like my mouth was never clean enough. If that's the case, get a new toothbrush, try a new toothpaste, and/or start using a mouth wash. :)

  5. its because you sleep with your mouth open and your dehydrated try drinking more water and see if that helps

  6. Yes, very normal.

You sleep with your mouth open, which dries it out. The saliva helps keep away bacteria. When that saliva is dried, the bacteria stays and can cause a bad smell.

It's not harmful. Just give your teeth a brush and use some mouthwash in the morning, and you're fine. It's the same for everyone.

Edit: Sleeping with your mouth closed will stop the problem, but unfortunately you cannot control this in your sleep.
