Question:

Is baggage insurance for a plane trip mandatory?

I was charged $20 for "Baggage Insurance Premium" on my credit card statement. I'm sort of a scrooge so is there any way to get this refunded. Also, there is $20 charged for "Travel Delay". What is that exactly, and can I get that refunded also?

  1. No, not mandatory. How did you book your trip? Online? Did you read everything before clicking?

Just a guess here but (since no one would pay extra for delay!) probably the "travel delay" charge is for travel delay INSURANCE to cover cost of hotel, etc., if delayed en route. Sounds like a bad deal. Also not required, but you MAY have agreed to it (in which case chalk it up to experience.)

  2. You need to take this up with your credit card company. They can tell you all about these charges.

PS Your homeowners insurance usually covers your baggage, depending on what policy you have. Check with your insurance agent.

  3. Try to have as much information as you could perhaps is one of the options, however it is labor consuming, here is the place i have ever had good experience with.http://insurance.online-frees.info/insur...
