Is baking soda actuatly safe to use on your teeth?

i have teeth that arent yellow, but very far from white. i have heard that people use baking soda to whiten there teeth. if i mixed it in a little bit of it with my toothpaste everytime i brush my teeth and rinse well would that be okay? also would it be grose to use the baking soda that i have in my freezer (to eliminate the odors) ?

Certain companies like Arm & Hammer sell toothpaste that has baking soda already in it so I wouldn't see any problem to add your own baking soda to your toothpaste. Also, I see no problem of using baking soda from your freezer. =)
