  1. Baking soda is safe....but, I would have no idea about the retainer.  I would think it might discolor it?  I would get a baking soda toothpaste instead.

  2. it probably is safe but it might leave a pretty unpleasant taste in your mouth.

  3. Baking soda is okay to use on your teeth, but it would really be better to use a whitening toothpaste.  Using baking soda would actually be a step backwards, as it was used to clean teeth BEFORE toothpaste was available.

  4. Yes, I would say that it's safe to use, although I, like many other users, aren't sure about the retainer.

Your best bet would be to buy a toothpaste with baking soda in it, I use Arm&Hammer's Extra Whitening Toothpaste (I use their Baking Soda for my fridge!) and it keeps my teeth really white.

  5. Yes, its safe to use. When I was a kid we used it pretty often, mostly when we ran out of toothpaste. It gives you a really clean feeling and is good for your breath too. The retainer will be fine...but the baking soda will not really whiten your teeth a lot just a little.

  6. im not sure about the retainer part, but baking soda is actully used in many teeth whitening toothpaste.,, it tastesa awful but i still use it.
