Is baloon man alive?

does anyone know what happened to the priest in brazil who did the diy baloon ride for charity. is he dead or alive?

The balloons were found in the sea, apparently he was an expert skydiver and had a parachute, also he had survival gear, water, high energy rations etc.

But so far no trace of him.

At first the press made it look as if an idiot was doing it, not so, he knew what he was about, but apparently and unpredictable change in wind direction blew him the wrong way

I would say he is dead, I have a feeling the balloons burst and he fell into the water. He more then likely will never be found.
