Is barrel racing a good sport to try?

I've only ever done english riding.

What are the ups and downs of the sport?

OMG HECK YEAH!!!! I barrel race and omg it iz da best sport eve!!!!!!! it iz so much fun! but if u want a really fast horse they r really expensive!!! but just a 3D- 4D horse iz probably 5000 bucks. But like 1d 2d horses r from $15,000- $100,000. But its sooooo worth it!!!
