No bears do not have hooves.  They have paws.  Big ones.

No a bear does not belong to the ungulate family (hooved animals). Ungulates walk on their toe tips as they move to support their weight while bears utilise the entire surface of their paws to do so. I think MAMA MAC may be exaggerating a tiny bit when she states that their paws are 500 times larger than a dog ! But they can be quite large, for example the front paws of a male polar bear (the largest bear) can exceed 12 in across !

Obviously you have never seen a bear - if you had, you would see that they clearly do not have hooves. They have large paws, each with five digits, all of which come into contact with the ground (unlike dogs and cats, which have only four digits on the hind paws, and whose fifth toe of the front paw, known as the dew claw, is higher up the leg and does not touch the ground). Like humans, they are plantigrade, meaning they walk on the whole surface of the foot (again, unlike dogs and cats, which are digitigrade - they walk on their toes). Hoofed animals are known as unguligrade, which means 'walking on fingernails' - the hoof is the equivalent of a human fingernail.
