  1. A Stock Broker is a salesman. If you're good at selling, you can make a lot of money (commissions) by being one. Watch "Boiler Room" or "Wall Street" and you'll see what I mean.

  2. No

If you good at sales and considered a people person you can be stock brokers.

Other than being able to sell, you need no special skills.

I've been in the business for over 40 years, and I think a stock broker is the dumbest thing walking upright

  3. It is getting more difficult due to compliance (MiFID in particular). A while ago if you were the son or daughter of a good client, it was no problem!

Actually you cannot become a stockbroker as there is no indidividual membership now (LSE) only corporate membership. So you could be an authorised person associated with a stockbroker.

As others answers have suggested there are several aspects to this, although most answers sound a bit derogatory as if salesman is a dirty word. There are analysts and salesmen. The analysts come up with the ideas and the salesmen sell those ideas to (mainly) institutions.

    Thanks for the thumbs down!

  4. go and watch the movie pursuit of happiness and u will get ur answer.........
